About Hotels Tarporley
Tarporley is a large village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It developed around the 18th and 19th centuries with many hostelries to revive the weary traveller. Tarporley is popular for its "old-time" charm and for its nearby castles, traditional markets, candlemaking, craft centres, antique fairs, horse riding, ice cream making, golf courses and fishing, as well as for its Carnival, held every year, in July, an exciting annual event organised by the combined forces of the Rotary Club and Round Table and supported by many local organisations.
Presently, the village has approximately 2700 people, living within its limits, fact which places it among Cheshire's largest villages. Tarporley is mostly visited for its "alive" history, highlighted through the historical buildings, found within and around its area, which include the beautiful St. Helen's Church, a wonderful example of medieval architecture.
Tarporley is considered one of England's must see places, and its unique village atmosphere is planed to be kept alive by involvement in the planning process and the development of a Village Design Statement, by the Parish Council.
